Overview The Merchandising Specialist, Vitamins plays a vital support role in assisting the category manager with merchandising and category management initiatives. This position involves developing and implementing pricing strategies and supporting the planning and execution of promotions on a weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis. The Specialist creates analytical reports, evaluates performance metrics, manages deals in the DMS, oversees pricing and new item setups, and collaborates on promotional materials. By working closely with cross-functional teams (CFT) like Merchandise Planning Analysts, Operations, and Schematics, the Specialist helps drive key departmental objectives and growth initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the category. The position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule with Tuesday-Thursday as required in office days, 8am-5pm schedule. Overview of Responsibilities Support the category manager by analyzing weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics and category reports, providing insights into departmental sales tactics and initiatives Manage deals in the Deal Management System (DMS), approving and rejecting deals based on brand promotional calendar commitments Collaborate with the pricing analyst to oversee retail pricing for designated regions, markets, and stores, including managing TPR and discontinued pricing requests to ensure competitive positioning Partner with the schematics team to develop plans and layouts that enhance market share and support category growth initiatives Address help desk tickets related to merchandising and category management efficiently Manage the timeline for the category review process including product submission tracking, overseeing the new item portal, and attending all meetings with CFT’s from kick off to store resets Assist in the creation and dissemination of weekly promotional materials, including build-ups and display items, while managing product images for ads, schematics, and the website Facilitate new item and vendor setup processes, ensuring all items are accurately managed and integrated into the system Maintain the master workbook for ad planning and assist in ad entry and soft proofing for promotional materials Serve as a liaison with the Marketing/Design team to maintain data integrity and align marketing efforts with category objectives Conduct monthly competitive market audits and participate in regular retail audits to ensure adherence to pricing, quality, and merchandising standards #LI-MS1 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years of experience in retail purchasing, marketing, or merchandising, with a focus on non-perishables preferred Supplements experience is a plus Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize effectively Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools High degree of creativity and innovative thinking Benefits In addition to a rewarding career, Sprouts offers a comprehensive program to help support you and your family.
