We are looking to hire a Specialty Clinic RN. As a Specialty Clinic RN at MercyOne, you will provide patient care activities to patients from birth to 18 years as assigned. Supports patients and family needs. Acts as liaison among patients, family, medical staff, community and outside providers. Performs patient history, schedules and coordinates multiple appointments and tests, and acquires preauthorization for testing and medication from insurance companies. Relays emergency phone calls to physician and reviews emergency treatment protocol with parent until physician may be located. Assists physician in clinic with emergency medication administration when patients seize or have an altered level of consciousness. Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing the patient and analyzes patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family. + Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions. + Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned . + Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered. + Accurately and legibly documents all patient interactions in patient record + Reports results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members. + Applies professional nursing skills in the provision of preventive health maintenance and treatment of ill and injured patients utilizing the four aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. + Function within limitations or scope of RN license. **Education:** + Possession of a current RN License issued by the State of Iowa + Clinic/Physician office experience preferred. + BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. + Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
