BWXT is currently seeking a Met Lab Tech B Element Evaluation employees for its Lynchburg, VA location!
Job Description/Duties
+ Prepares metallurgical samples and/or sample amounts of components and other materials for evaluation in accordance with detailed written procedures.
+ Prepares specified surfaces for metallographic evaluation
+ Prepares samples by layout, sawing, scribing, grinding, sectioning, mounting, polishing, anodizing and chemical etching.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
+ A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
+ Must be willing to work with hazardous pastes and acids.
+ Controlled area position with some overtime required.
+ Requires dexterity to manually manipulate small samples to obtain desired results.
+ A high level of precision and attention to detail is required.
+ Previous experience desired.
+ Must successfully complete metallurgical qualification by passing a written, oral and practical examination.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" security clearance and work under fitness for duty program.
+ Must obtain tamper safe seal qualification and be able to obtain and maintain respirator qualification.
+ Must be able to wear composite toe safety shoes.
+ Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Upon acceptance, employee will be required to work in a Met Lab Section for a minimum of 2 years.

The starting hourly rate for this position in [[stateProvince]] is expected to be $[[cust_salaryMax]] per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
