**Job Title: Metal Cutter**
**Job Description**
The metal cutter is responsible for the metal stripping operation, quality checks, and maintenance of our copper plating line. The role involves preparing metal using various solutions and techniques, understanding chemical formulations, performing special cleaning procedures, and ensuring all operations are completed as specified in the production documentation.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare metal using different metal preparation solutions and cleaning techniques.
+ Know the chemical formulation of all metal preparation solutions used.
+ Determine when special cleaning procedures are required to prevent damage to delicate parts.
+ Perform the operations specified in the production documentation.
+ Understand all information in the job folder.
+ Fully comply with all safety procedures and wear required PPE to perform all duties.
+ Perform 'in process' tests to ensure product quality.
+ Inform the superior when a non-compliant product or other process deviations occur.
+ Maintain order and cleanliness at the workplace.
+ Ensure that the operation is performed for all parts.
+ Correctly record quantities in the routing as well as in the non-conformity tracking sheet.
+ Perform additional job duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1 year of hand tool experience within a manufacturing setting using various cutting tools, saws, tape measures, bending, crimping materials.
+ Ability to read and interpret various drawings or instruction manuals.
+ Basic math skills including fractions, addition, subtraction, using rulers and tape measures.
+ Good attendance.
+ Ability to bend, crouch, push, pull, and twist throughout the shift.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly lift 20-50 pounds.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes a heat treating facility with large furnaces and oil bins for cooling parts. It is not the cleanest environment and can be hot in the summers and cold in the winters. The position is for the first shift from 7 am to 3 pm, with a 30-minute paid lunch.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Madison Heights, Michigan.
