Position Overview:

As part of the Navico Group Stuart team, you will set up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Essential Functions:  

Reading and interpreting engineering blueprintsConstructing base templates if necessaryAbility to setup fixtures and RSW without any supervision.Measuring and marking out cutting, bending lines and placement for componentsSetting up metalwork machinery including cold saw, drill presses, band saw, notcher, belt sander tape measure and/or calipersDouble-checking design specifications before commencing with productionFabricating and constructing metal componentsGrinding and finishing completed productsPerforming quality checks on completed productsConforming with state and company safety regulationsCompleting daily logsThe ability to perform task with minimal to no supervisionSelf-starterAll other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Ability to train and guide new inbound employeesAbility to read and interpret engineering blueprintsAbility to follow all training procedures in placeAbility to perform basic math skills (adding, subtracting, fractions and decimals)Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including cold saw, tape measure, band saw, general power tools and drill pressesGood understanding of quality control principlesGood communication skillsExcellent hand-eye coordination and physical conditionAbility to lift and manipulate large metal piecesAbility to stand for long periodsUnderstanding of G&M codesDemonstrated oral and written communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specificationsProblem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process

Preferred Qualifications:

High School or greaterAt least two years related experience required as a machinistVocational school or apprenticeship or welding experience is preferred

Working Conditions:

While performing duties of the job, incumbent is required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hand to finger handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusNon-A/C work area; the noise level can periodically be higher than normal, hearing protection may be requiredUnderstanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
