Job Description:

Location: Sanford, Maine

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Sanford, ME as a Metal Grinder/Polisher. This role is responsible for grinding and polishing sheet metal to meet manufacturing requirements. The ideal candidate will possess basic mechanical skills and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic mathematical functions and interpret blueprints/shop instructions.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, hand trucks, and pallet jacks effectively.
Distinguish between sealing surfaces and finish panels, determining the appropriate grinding process.
Demonstrate knowledge of various grinding tools, abrasive wheels, and their proper applications.
Grind metal to achieve proper surface texture and finish.
Grind Cold Rolled Steel metal without weakening or breaking through the product.
Recognize and reject failed or insufficient welds before or during the grinding process.
Meet or exceed time and quality standards for assigned parts.
Focus on delivering high-quality results to ensure customer satisfaction.

Desired Background/Skills:

Meet production demand.
Collaborate effectively with the team.
Lift 10-20 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs periodically.
Assist with two-person lifting requirements up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Stand, stoop, crawl, climb, or bend for up to 8 hours.
Basic knowledge of hand tools (Grinders, saws, cutting tools, measuring equipment, and other hand tools).
Prior sheet metal or machine shop experience or training is helpful but not required.

Compensation: $19/hour
