About the role
The duties of the Metal Recovery Technician include the safe and efficient operation and mechanical repair of all equipment associated with the Residue, ferrous, and Non-ferrous systems. The chosen candidate will also perform lockout and tagout of the ferrous and non-ferrous system as well as becoming proficient at the ferrous and ash crane load out process.
Key Responsibilities:Maintain daily logs
Monitor the operation and maintenance of earth magnet conveyors, belt conveyors, motors and gearboxes, vibrating pans, grizzlies, screw conveyors, ECS magnets, drag conveyors, pug mills, ash sampling process and PLC control center
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance including gearbox and motor change outs, ECS and conveyor belt change out, roller & bearing replacement, screen and spring replacements, belt tracking, scraper adjustments or replacement, metal & rubber skirting replacement, guarding repairs & structural repairs.
Operate mobile equipment such as Front-end Loaders, Skid Steers, Man-lifts, Lull’s and Forklifts
Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED is required.
Must have at least one year of previous experience in the operation of heavy industrial machinery or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Welding experience preferred
Military or formal technical/apprentice training preferred.
Previous power plant / industrial experience preferred.
Physical Demands:Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
Consistently work in various weather conditions
Shift Work:5-2-2-5 shift schedule days and the ability to work nights for coverage when required.
