Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL is looking to train new employees that desire to become our next employees in Heat Treat. The Metal Treating Specialist Trainee program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing and learning new skills. Positions may be available on all shifts after training on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks at the facility. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for: + Set up, operation and adjustment heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears Physical Qualifications (With or Without Accommodation) + Will work in environment that has extreme temperatures + Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures + Stand for a minimum of 8 hour shifts + Frequent walking, bending, reaching + Occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing + Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating **Basic Qualifications:** + High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience **Required Qualifications:** + High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience + Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures + Basic computer skills + Experience in a manufacturing environment + Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends **Desired Qualifications:** + Previous heat treat experience + Previous machine shop experience **Top Candidates will also have:** + Strong commitment to safety at all times + Excellent attitude and willingness to learn **Additional Information:** + Positions are available for 3rd shift in East Peoria Bldg. KK + **This is a supplemental position – minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits available** + Pay is $22.25 hr + Relocation is not offered for this position + This position requires no travel.
