Metal Worker (Facilities)

Under the direction of the Lead Maintenance, the Metal Worker is responsible for the safe operation hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist in promoting brand loyalty by engaging in exceptional customer service to both our external and internal customers. Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Performs tasks such as metal fabrication, thermal cutting and grinding. Operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. Works with other trades to complete projects and tasks. Maintains Shop in a safe clean condition, including all tools and equipment. Maintains stock of Shop: tracks and orders. Operates safety equipment and practices safe work habits. Welds separately or in combination using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Education/Experience/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum five (5) years welding and metal-fabrication experience required.  Must possess own tools. Ability to read and follow various signage as well as oral and written instructions. Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment required to complete all duties and jobs. Ability to follow safety guidelines when using required equipment, tools and techniques while performing job duties. Ability to read and understand blue prints, as-builts, and schematics. Knowledge of power and hand tools. Knowledge of emergency shut-off procedures for gas, water, electrical, etc. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier. Must possess valid State Welding License.
