Metallurgical Engineering Intern
EJ has an immediate opening for a 2025 Summer Metallurgical Engineering Intern. Location: Elmira, Michigan SUMMARY The Metallurgical Engineering Intern will work at our new East Jordan Foundry located in Elmira, Michigan. This facility began production in November of 2018 and provides multiple opportunities for a student to receive hands-on problem-solving and engagement in the operations of a state-of-the art and technically driven iron foundry. The intern will participate on our engineering and quality teams on major projects addressing the microstructure of cast iron and providing physical property analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Gain a basic understanding of Grey and Ductile Iron Metallurgy and improve quality processes. + Ability to characterize Grey and Ductile iron micro-structure. + Review alloy concentrations and plan samples for reduction of copper alloys. + Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
