Up to $110,000 DOE

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Metallurgist to contribute toward the growth and development of the engineering/metallurgical department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
Primary technical contact for applicable customers. Develop, modify, improve, and troubleshoot the processes associated with the production of seamless rolled rings and other open-die forgings. Metallurgical failure analysis and disposition for applicable customers, including generation of non-dimensional concessions for customer review. Own new part introduction (NPI) process for applicable customers, including final review of qualification packages prior to customer review. Perform various Metallurgy Department projects including planning, organizing data collection, and presentation. Initiate and control cost reduction projects to achieve targets established by Supervisor. Release hardware for production utilizing processes that are designed to meet or exceed customer technical (metallurgical and quality) requirements as specified on purchase orders, blueprints, specifications or other related documents. Review of new and revised technical (material, process, quality, etc) specifications, as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
