Note: This is an onsite position based out of our offices in Little Rock or Hot Springs, AR. Candidates from outside the area will be expected to reloate for this role.  Relocation Assistnace is not available for this posting. 

 

Summary

This position is responsible for the meter services operations in Entergy Mississippi and will lead both Entergy and contract employees in meter work as it relates to turn-ons, turn-offs, reads, exchanges, etc.  The successful candidate will work to improve Net Promotor Score and Total Shareholder Return by improving timeliness and accuracy of field activities.  Additionally, this position will work closely with the Meter to Cash organization as it addresses Net Promotor Score and Total Shareholder Return opportunities.

 

Duties

Manage Meter Service’s day-to-day operations with a focus on driving operational improvements to increase total shareholder return in the realm of meter work.  Develop and/or implement programs and strategies to improve employee safety and performance. Responsible for providing overall guidance, direction, and supervision to all department personnel. Work closely with the Work Management, Jurisdictional leadership, and Operations to manage workload forecasts. Provide oversight, analysis, and recommendations that impact priorities. Work closely with the automated metering operations center to leverage technical resources and data to refine existing processes as well as create new processes. Align team with customer billing and payment organization and customer journey processes. Ensure proper training and development of employees, so they are qualified to perform assigned work. Provide operational support during storms and other related events.  

 

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position.

High school diploma required.

 

Minimum experience required of the position.

6+ years of field experience (Transmission & Distribution, distribution, customer service, or related experience) required. Existing Supervisory/Leadership experience is preferred.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Basic knowledge of meter types and how they work Basic knowledge of electricity and voltages.  Outstanding written and verbal skills including the ability to clearly communicate and express self well in groups and one on one conversations.  The ability to communicate technical subject matter to less technical stakeholders.  The ability to influence others with or without direct authority Strong problem-solving capability including strong critical thinking and questioning attitude skills.  Understanding of Change Management and Configuration Management principles and the ability to apply those principles to technology implementation. Strong conflict resolution skills.  Intermediate to advanced proficiency in analytical tools including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.  General understanding of distribution operations’ processes, and systems.  Understanding and the ability to work with Smart Grid, Distribution Automation, Automated Metering, and/or GPS based technologies.  Knowledge and experience of contractor management requirements and processes desirable. Knowledge of Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices desirable.
