As part of the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability (ERS) Division, you will collaborate with experts to provide comprehensive policy, planning, and implementation services to deliver solutions that address critical infrastructure resilience and security issues and support the military mission, while reducing environmental impacts. The ERS Division is seeking a Metrics/Data Analyst to support Department of Defense clients focused on public works, utilities and energy issues. The candidate will conduct analysis to support data-driven decision making. In this role, you will work manage internal utility data and utilize software and data management tools to collect, track, analyze data for a variety of internal and external audiences. You will work with small teams to understand, visualize, and report client data to enable organizational planning, forecasting, transparency of decision making, accountability, accessibility, and accuracy of enterprise-wide data. This is a client-site position, with future potential to work remotely while participating in some in-person client and team meetings and/or site visits. Some travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Identify and test new insights to improve short- and long-term decision making
+ Apply knowledge of existing and emerging software tools for application to existing needs of clients and advise on the design and creation of new simple, accessible tools
+ Prepare data visualizations for info papers, briefings, point papers, reviews and oral presentations as may be directed to translate the results from analysis to government decision makers and to support strategic communication efforts.
+ Write clear and concise descriptions of data, methodology, and results for inclusion in reports, info papers, or presentations.
+ Advise on ways to change data collection of enterprise-level utility data and increase data sharing to identify and enable metrics reporting, prioritization criteria and methodologies, risk mitigation, and framework development for enterprise data informed decision-making.
+ Maintain strong client relationships.
Basic Qualifications:
+ BA or BS in economics, computer or data science, statistics, mathematics, business, or related field plus 6-8 years directly related experience
+ Experience organizing and analyzing utility data
+ Familiarity with utility and infrastructure requirements and systems
+ Experience using Microsoft Excel, database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft Access, and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power Platform and Tableau
+ Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
+ Ability to adapt and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
+ Proven capability to independently initiate, track and manage tasks, with a high degree of detail, quality, and process orientation
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to clearly articulate ideas for senior leadership as well as technical staff consumption.
+ Ability to work in teams and establish and maintain cross-functional and working relationships.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ MA or MS in related field
+ Experience in organizing and performing statistical models
+ Knowledge of Navy structure and operations
+ Experience in government consulting or supporting government organizations
