Metrology Technician Junior

**Summary:**
Inspects products using gauges, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), scales, oscilloscope, precision hand tools and vision. Comply with all Mission Quality Manual, procedures and instructions. Must be able to analyze and collect data to make accurate recommendations based on findings. Comply with all Quality Internal Controls and Current Quality Management Systems.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following but not limited to.
+ Performs technical layouts of components and assemblies utilizing existing CMM programs, fixtures and set-ups
+ Must perform minor manual set-up checks using CMM equipment
+ Perform technical layouts utilizing height gauges, micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks and common hard gauges in a lab environment
+ Read blueprints and interpret technical drawings with the applicable technical support.
+ Able to use of all lab inspection equipment under supervision.
+ Utilize the applicable systems to access drawings, inspection requirements, requester information and upload measurements reports
+ Execute existing CMM Programs and make changes to existing programs under supervision.
+ Performs calibration on inspection tools: micrometers, calipers, height gauges etc.
+ Maintain gauge tracking program, print list of gauges due for calibration in the beginning of each month and follow up with calibration, maintain calibration records
+ Maintain 5S standards on both equipment and workstation
+ Responsible to follow priorities as assigned.
+ Responsible to follow all safety rules
+ Load measurements data and information on the FPI final reports
+ All other duties may be assigned according to business needs
**Education and Experience:**
+ High School Diploma/GED required.
+ Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
+ Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
+ Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
+ Familiarity with basic laboratory measurement and testing equipment
+ Able to read and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings layouts, manuals, and procedures.
+ Teamwork player
+ Must be flexible to rotate shifts as required when different scenarios arise.
+ Must be able and willing to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
+ Ability to work independently in assigned tasks.
+ Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
+ Must be able to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed.
