Job Responsibilities

Lumentum is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This position will be responsible for overseeing the production processes for Optical High-Reliability Pump Lasers, ensuring efficiency and high-quality output. This role focuses on managing yields, implementing process improvements such as HPU and scrap reduction, and optimizing throughput. The Manager collaborates with R&D, production teams, and planners to align processes with design requirements and production goals. Leadership in driving cross-functional initiatives and data-driven decision-making is critical for success. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with all safety and industry standards while continuously improving manufacturing performance. 

Participate in NPI process, including process designs and product design reviewsTroubleshoot product and yield issues. Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team in multiple locations to derive the most effective solutions to production, yield, cost, and quality issuesProcess flow optimization, DFM, PFMEA, and work instruction development and maintenancePreparation and communication of scientific and technical presentations, updates and reportsSupport for business development and engineering teams as neededProvide leadership, technical coaching and mentoring which engages the R&D teamLead/manage process engineering team.

  Qualifications and requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above. Major in Electronics Engineering, Optoelectronics, Physics, Fiber Communication5+ years for Bachelor, 3+ years for Master work experience in optoelectronic devices, transceiver, transponder, or fiber optics communication industries is desired.Good sense of quality, strong logical analytical capability and trouble shooting skillsFamiliar to statistics analysis tool (at least one of Minitab, JMP, SQL, Python)Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and ThaiStrong interest in solving difficult problems.Recognize and efficiently troubleshoot common electronic and optical component and circuit problems.Demonstrate the construction and operation of common electronic and optical components.Familiar with common electronic and optical terminologyStrong initiative-taking, goal oriented, task driven collaborator.Flexibility in work hours to support conference calls with North AmericaExperience in Agile and Oracle is necessary. Expert in excel for graphical interpretation.Flexibility in work hours to support either early morning or evening conference calls with North AmericaAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and engineering team members. Ability to discern priorities in handling stressful situations.
