The Opportunity

This position works out of our Santa Clara, CA, location in the Structural Heart division (SH).

Main Purpose of Role

Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

What You’ll Work On

Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations. This includes QSR and ISO Standards.Execute test studies in accordance with engineering requirements.Gather test data, present, and share with engineering team.Support engineering characterization studies.Perform Equipment Installment QualificationsPerform Equipment maintenance protocols.Support with operator training activitiesIdentifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.Evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.May develop or revise documents and procedures.Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processes.Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools and fixtures.(Influence/Leadership) May provide work direction to other employees in work group.(Planning/Organization) Actively participates in comprehensive development of plans including an outline of duties and project assignments. Demonstrates independence by prioritizing and completing assignments.(Decision Making/Impact) Solves unusually complex problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Develops information which extends the existing boundaries of knowledge in a given field. Troubleshoots problems.

Shift  

Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm with potential overtime

Required Qualifications

Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum 8 yearsRelated work experience. May also require a license or certification in the area of expertise.  (Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)Applies superior knowledge of highly complex technical concepts and/or develops highly advanced technologies or processes.Thorough understanding of product or systems fundamentals in cross-functional areas.Hands on experience with Vertical Laminators, Hot Box Reflow, Braiding and laser welding is highly desirable.Recommends/utilizes/interprets advanced numerical and statistical data and/or computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems.Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.(Cognitive Skills) Performs and guides technical activities resulting from self-initiated or assigned programs leading to innovative applications of existing or new products, systems, or technologies having major importance to the department and organization.Creates the technical basis, including Records of Invention, patents, product definitions, developments, and processes for proprietary positions having potential benefits for the business.

The base pay for this position is $32.10 – $64.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
