Job Summary
Bigelow 14 is a twenty-seven bed adult inpatient General Medicine unit. Patients are generally admitted to our unit from the Emergency Department or as a transfer from one of the intensive care units.The Medical unit is seeking a full -time administrative professional, with evening availability, and to provide rotational holiday coverage. Only full-time applicants able to provide coverage from Sunday - Thursday will be considered for this opportunity at this time.
Qualifications
As a Unit Coordinator,
You will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff.
You will transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that the medical treatments and procedures are carried out and order supplies for the unit.
Acts as the central contact person for the nursing unit; performs transcription, clerical and reception duties; and will become an expert user in Epic.
Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee to coordinate the non-nursing/non-clinical activities essential to the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
The position will require a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.

Sunday - Thursday (3:00pm- 11:00pm)
Rotating Holiday schedule

Required: High School diploma or Graduate equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree; Epic experience.
Medical or health care experience desirable, but willing to train qualified and willing candidates.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers
Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems.
