Job Summary:

Manages the marketing and communications functions for one or more products and services. Aligns efforts to promote and enhance the organization’s image and brand(s) with specific product marketing and communications strategies and tactics for one or more product lines. Identifies and implements programs to communicate current programs, product features and benefits, and changes. Manages the alignment of content across several marketing and communications mediums including print, digital, out of home, social media and website content. Integrates overall marketing deliverables with internal communications. Understands and applies regulatory requirements to prospect marketing and in ongoing member communications. Develops and manages key internal and external relationships. Manages marketing and communications staff.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Selects, develops, motivates, trains, and retains exceptional staff, to ensure appropriate, skilled staffing resources; performs annual staff performance reviews.Manages translation of broad strategies into specific marketing and communications tactics for products and channels under management. Identifies appropriate communications media depending on audience.Oversees media buying and manages marketing and print budgets for products under management. Advises leaders on appropriate marketing and communication strategies.Understands service area market dynamics and competitive landscape. Reviews competitor marketing strategies and materials to understand product positioning. Identifies opportunities to obtain market feedback through stakeholder surveys, consumer panels, and patient advisory councils. Interprets research and assists in market assessment for the collaborative development of positioning strategies. Uses industry tools and resources to develop and maintain a technical understanding of products, competitor set, and how industry changes impact marketing and communications collateral.Manages the development of editorial calendars and newsletter content for audiences by working closely with sales and product management teams.Works with care delivery (e.g. hospital and medical group) marketing and communications teams to identify opportunities to align messaging and enhance the brand and image for SSM Health products and services.Understands industry advancements for marketing and communicating to consumers to incorporate into day-to-day operations and deliverables such as email communications, digital marketing techniques and measurement, and social media marketing tactics. Ability to apply industry knowledge to written and digital communication to prospects and members. This role may have overall management of social media marketing and communications plans and content.Learns and understands government requirements for prospect and member communications for products under management. Works with the Compliance and Quality teams to ensure marketing and communications collateral is in compliance with regulatory requirements.Conducts projects and participates in team activities to identify problems and to improve work processes and systems. Collaborates to develop internal communications and employee messaging.Represents Marketing and Communications department on cross-functional work groups and initiatives such as customer experience work groups, medical management work groups, or project management sub-teams. Works with Creative Services team to understand brand standards and maintain brand compliance across the organization.Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field


EXPERIENCE

Eight years’ experience in marketing, communication, advertising, or public relations, with two years’ in leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Frequent keyboard use/data entry.Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Rare climbing.
