**JOB SUMMARY** Provides and manages business unit’s state regulatory activities, including transmission policy development, tariffs and regulatory proceedings for transmission operations, capital projects and business expansion opportunities. Advocates for and shapes transmission policy to create a regulatory climate to support business unit operations and foster a conducive environment for transmission development and furthering the company’s strategic goals. Drives formulation of regulatory strategy in support of transmission policy and regulatory proceedings for the company. Responsible for effectively managing relationships, ensuring a strong reputation and representing the company at state regulatory commissions and, as identified in each business unit, in Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) committees, industry events and conferences, stakeholder meetings and other venues. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Serves as ITC business unit's primary contact for business unit state regulatory activities, formulating strategy and engaging with the appropriate regulatory agencies to promote ITC's interests. + Represents the company in regulatory proceedings, working with employees from the Legal team, corporate rates team and other internal teams as needed. + Manages state regulatory processes within the respective business unit, coordinating activities with other departments. Processes include reporting functions to ensure regulatory compliance. + Monitors and keeps abreast of state and federal transmission regulatory policies and electric utility legislative initiatives. + Researches, analyzes and interprets regulatory filings; reviews industry news and publications and interprets information for business unit leadership. + Serves as company advocate on transmission policy for development opportunities; including working with company personnel on policy initiatives to identify potential impact on company and develop appropriate responses to further company's strategic goals. + Engages with key external constituents within the business unit service area in support of regulatory activities. As defined in each business unit, key audiences may include, legislators, stakeholders/customers, industry/trade associations, consumer groups and other utility professionals; participates in external electric industry/trade associations, electric industry conferences and formal/informal coalitions as required. + Participates in internal strategy meetings to formulate the company's strategic goals, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and implications to accomplish those goals. Researches, analyzes, interprets and reports data on regulatory matters; provides timely and accurate information and analysis to management on regulatory matters that may impact the company. + Depending on the needs of the business unit, represents the company by participating in Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) committees and task forces to protect and further enhance the company's interests. **REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education; ; Master's degree in Business Administration or other relevant discipline preferred. + Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience as an electric utility Regulatory Analyst or similar function. + Experience and proficiency in pricing and regulatory policy; strong advocate of company position in various forums. + Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and establish rapport with management, colleagues, regulators, stakeholders/customers and other individuals inside and outside the company. + Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate and supervise employees. + Possesses leadership qualities, logical problem-solving skills and strong negotiation skills. + Knowledge of roles, responsibilities and requirements of state public utility commissions, the Federal Power Act, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy and North American Electric Reliability Council. + Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and capable of managing multiple projects and tasks and ensuring their timely completion. + Ability to travel for company business, including overnight stays, up to several times per month. + Advanced knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. + Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
