Mgr Business Services-Periop/C

Major Responsibilities:

Business Oversight – responsible for the overall business/fiscal management for all of Periop Services (Main OR, Day Surgery, PACU, Anesthesia, SPD, PAT), OPC, OP Recovery, Pain Clinic, Venous Access, GI Lab, Wound Center, Neurodiagnostics, CV Services (EP Lab, Cath Lab, Heart Failure Clinic, Cardiac Rehab, Cardio Diagnostics) and Interventional Radiology.  Develops and maintains the Operational, Strategic and Capital Budget   Performs monthly variance reporting and assures variances are addressed and rectified.   Identifies profit/loss service line and procedural analysis   Performs cost benefit analysis on new technology requests working closely with Finance pre & post purchase to assure return on investment.   Pursue and implement cost-saving initiatives for both system and Advocate Sherman Hospital   Recommends optimization of position control and provides ongoing education to Leadership Team regarding budgeting skills, operational budget management and variance avoidance.   Completes capital acquisition reviews and prepares for administration as appropriatePricing and Billing – Responsible for assuring proper pricing and billing are implemented and maintained.   Performs procedure profiles.   Aligns average cost per case.   Assures that cost updates are occurring across department lines.Strategic Planning   Provides data to Director and OR Executive Committee on profitable service lines and enhancement there of.   Plans, develops and assists implementing new Surgical Service/GI programs and services, completes financial analysis.   Assists in planning for new technology procurements; collects data through external databases, does competitive analysis and projects volumes and fiscal impact.   Works with Business/Finance Developments on target product line initiatives.Inventory Management – Assures inventory is maintained appropriately.   Develops/enhances Perioperative Services/GI Lab/CV Services/Interventional Radiology inventory systems.   Serves as a Chair or Co-chair of Surgical Services Product Evaluation Committee.   Assures a yearly inventory occurs.   Provides data to support inventory levels, with the goal of inventory reduction.   Monitors implant inventories and develops cost management plan.


Education/Experience Required:

Bachelors Degree, preferably in healthcare or leadership field Four years related experience and 2 years Leadership experience


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Strong Fiscal Management skills In-depth utilization knowledge of software packages (productivity, fiscal, inventory)Demonstrated knowledgeable skills in business development, profit loss analysis
