Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking a Manager, Civil and Equipment Engineering (West) to lead our team. Based out of Vancouver, BC, and supporting our teams across British Columbia and Alberta, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals who are focused on supporting the execution of capital build programs in the Wireless (RAN – Radio Access Network) Civil and Equipment Engineering space. This is a people leadership role that requires strong communication, leadership, and team management skills to guide the team towards success, ensuring projects are executed efficiently while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.


What you’ll do:
Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project timelines. Manage the allocation of work and resources across multiple projects, ensuring the team is equipped to achieve targets and deliverables. Foster a high-performance team culture through ongoing coaching, feedback, and support, ensuring team members have opportunities for professional growth and development. Act as the primary point of contact for all people-related matters, proactively resolving challenges and providing guidance to the team.

Project Management and Execution:

Oversee the effective execution of capital build programs, managing both day-to-day operations and long-term planning to ensure projects meet objectives, quality standards, and timelines. Supervise the creation, issuance, and tracking of IWO (Installation Work Orders), PWO (Provisioning Work Orders), and CWO (Civil Work Orders), ensuring deliverables are met by external partners and team members alike. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Planning, Radio Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Real Estate, Network Implementation, and Field Operations, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

Process and Standards Management:

Develop and foster a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring the engineering and construction standards align with company policies and industry best practices. Enforce engineering guidelines and network standards for base station facilities, enclosures, power systems, environmental systems, antenna supporting structures, and towers. Oversee external contractors and third-party vendors, ensuring their work aligns with Rogers' standards and expectations.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication regarding project progress, timelines, risks, and opportunities. Provide regular updates to leadership on project statuses, including progress, risks, and financial performance.

Budget and Financial Management:

Contribute to the annual budget submission and provide ongoing financial management for capital projects. Ensure resources are effectively allocated, and project costs are managed within budget.

 

What you bring:

A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a technical or operations-focused environment, with a proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams. A background in telecommunications or engineering is preferred but not required; strong leadership and team management skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities, and lead a team towards achieving key business objectives. Strong understanding of project management principles, including the ability to forecast, plan, and track performance. Exceptional communication (both written and verbal), negotiation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders. A solution-oriented mindset, with a history of resolving complex challenges through collaboration and innovative thinking. A passion for fostering a positive, inclusive team culture, focused on continuous improvement and delivering results.
