Primary Duties
1. Provides assistance, guidance and direction to Business Unit personnel regarding the following functions and/or activities:
a. Leak survey/leak repair/leakage control programs
b. Regulation and measurement compliance
c. Technical training
d. Safety
e. Cathodic protection design and compliance
f. Technical records
g. Regulatory compliance inspections or audits
2. Establishes work schedules and/or ensures work schedules are in places that are necessary to achieve completion of regulatory compliance work, procedures, and reports.
3. Develops and maintains operating and maintenance standards for the Company in order to ensure public safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Provides technical review of projects and conducts quality control audits of compliance work performed to ensure system integrity, regulatory compliance, and employee and customer safety.
5. Assists during the annual capital budget development regarding compliance related expenditures. Reviews budget requests and makes recommendations for submission and approval.
6. Evaluates and establishes standards for tools and equipment used in compliance activities.
7. Implements policies, procedures and standards to ensure proper administration of activities.
8. Develops and monitors functional area budgets to ensure efficient utilization of resources. Plans, directs and reviews the achievement of area goals and objectives within established company policies.
9. Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure proper administration of activities. Selects, develops, motivates, and evaluates the performance of assigned employees.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field and seven years progressively responsible professional experience in the natural gas industry operations management and/or compliance work; or
2. General education knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and nine years progressively responsible professional experience in the natural gas industry operations management and/or compliance work.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical and/or complex nature.
NUMERIC SKILLS:
Requires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric, geometric operation or moderately complex statistical methods and/or apply high level accounting methods for financial reporting.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create complex documents, reports and graphics.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Works in an office environment.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Requires a valid driver's license.
