We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Manager Division Order within our Land group based in Houston, TX.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Division Order Manager oversees and manages one of Oxy’s asset areas Division Order function and team.   He/she supervises and assists in the facilitation of the distribution of proceeds from oil and gas sales and collection of well expenses. Assist in determining the relative ownership of company, working interest partners and royalty holders through research and analysis of title documents.  This person assists Director/Management in the leadership, development, and mentorship of the Division Order staff.

Qualifications –

 

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree.
  • Manage a team of employees.
  • Participates in developing processes to identify and rectify/mitigate risks associated with division order set up and maintenance.
  • Leads and works with other departments on projects including acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Assists with litigation issues as requested.
  • Leads discussions on process improvements within the department and makes recommendations to management.
  • Ensures that legal, procedural, and operational considerations are accurately incorporated on a project.
  • Conducts extensive analysis and interpretation of the provisions of complicated or ambiguous leases, division orders, contracts, deeds, probate, and assignments.
  • Engages in due diligence, ensuring that all relevant legal documentation is identified and reviewed to support business decision-making.
  • Prepares and delivers due diligence reports and recommendations to management.
  • Works with external stakeholders, including landowners and partner companies, handling complex and sensitive issues.

Identifies additional internal and external training opportunities for staff.

  • Begins to exhibit leadership qualities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn other computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Quorum Land System/SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and sometimes on multiple projects.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary company data and information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Knowledge of basic land principles and their application with the ability to examine land data for the entry into the land data management system. 
  • General understanding of land terminology, contracts, and their uses with the ability to work on projects of increased complexity under general direction.
