Directs the technical work of individuals within the specific functional area and coordinates the respective needs regarding the use of resources to complete the project work.Oversees certain operations within a specific department of an organization, requiring a balance of high-level planning and direction and hands-on guidance to ensure that team members complete critical tasks according to schedule, to ensure that their area’s projects are completed on time and according to budget. Responsible for ensuring that the performance of their functional area has been improved continuously and also enhancing cross-function integration and establishing specific standards and prescribed training and reporting, thus to help the compliance of the organization’s policies and requirements. Functional managers tend to assist the activities of project managers and team members, providing guidance and advice through the lifecycles of several concurrent projects.They have the understanding of their function's resources priorities and allocate resources to achieve better efficiency. Reports to Senior leadership. *_Position Responsibilities:_* *Key Areas of Responsibility* 1. Participate in the initial planning until work packages or activities are assigned. 2. Provide subject matter expertise. 3. Recommend changes to the project, including corrective actions. 4. Manage activities within their functional areas. 5. Review and make recommendations during the development of the project management plan. 6. Establish specific standards and prescribe training and reporting, thus to help the compliance of the organization’s policies and requirements. 7. Provide necessary tools and coaching and education. *Education* · Minimum:A bachelor’s degree in a related field. · Preferred: A master’s degree in a field such as finance or business administration. *Experience:* · At least five years of managerial experience *Licensure, Certification, Registration:* · Depends on what department this may apply to *Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:* · Strong leadership skills · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Proven ability to provide support to multiple users with varying needs · Proven conflict resolution abilities to maintain cohesion and cooperation within department and proven resolution of conflicts and realignment of priorities · Proven experience building and maintaining relationships · Strong attention to detail and advanced organizational skills · Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at once · Proven analytical problem solver · Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities · Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize data, enter formulas, and create reports · Strong general technology knowledge · Good time management skills *_We take great care of careers._**__* With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
