Overview The Manager of Material, Services and Logistics (MSL) is responsible for providing effective leadership and integrated coordination in the development and implementation of strategies and processes that will result in optimal levels of inventory and managed purchased materials. This position includes direct supervision for employees of the Material, Services and Logistics team, coordination of contractors providing materials and related services across the Company service territory and addresses the business needs of internal clients and external suppliers in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible. Responsibilities + Operationalizes best practices, strategies, and training to drive a safety mindset. + Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards. + Manages and directs the work of a team, including overseeing employee performance, and developing employees through appropriate recruitment, coaching, counseling, training and development. + Establishes and maintains consistent methodologies and processes for the safe, efficient and cost-effective receiving, storing and distribution of inventory items and applicable purchased materials, taking advantage of available technology, where feasible. + Supports the strategic direction focused on customer service by managing the MSL staff in the timely delivery of materials and services aligned with cost, schedule, and quality requirements. + Develops and implements inventory and warehouse management strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts. + Collaborates with other departments and business units to ensure smooth and efficient operations. + Provides key interfaces between local Operations and the MSL team to ensure Operations material management requirements are met. + Establishes and manages performance goals, objectives, and measurements that drive the organization to higher levels of achievement and excellence. + Facilitates communications between Logistics Services and Supply Chain material category managers (i.e., the buying staff) to identify inventory optimization opportunities. + Supports 3PL operations and performance as required. + Collaborates with category managers to align on and achieve regional goals and ensure commitments to accounts are met. + Tracks and analyzes lead-time/delivery data and challenge global supply chain for improved supply/demand. + Develops, monitors and analyzes inventory and warehouse performance metrics. + Supports improvement initiatives focused on implementation and maintenance of robust ERP enhancements. + Supports implementation of QMS and LSS process improvements and SOPs + Provides logistics and material support in an emergency preparedness role. + All other duties and projects as assigned.
