Job Summary

The Manager Technology will provide a People focused approach to Technology Leadership by leading a Team that develops analytics solutions that answer department-wide performance questions and inform face-based, defensible decision making. This role will develop and implement a vision for Technology Analytics, including ways to develop and integrate AI to deliver Technology performance insights. They’ll also partner with Enterprise Architecture to enable the Enterprise Architecture Managements in Business of IT Platform tools. The Manager Technology is a strong communicator who is excited to develop innovative solutions to drive the future of Southwest.  

 

Additional details: 

This role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel for training, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in a remote location, away from our Corporate Campus. Please note, while this is a remote position, there is a limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work. Those ineligible locations are: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Washington and Wyoming

Build strong, collaborative relationships and credibility while influencing and driving change across respective Business and Technology Teams

Work with Technology and business partners to measure financial benefits and demonstrable business value

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of business/Leadership principals, including planning, organizing, directing, developing, and supervising

Knowledge of personnel practices and regulations

Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, methodologies, tools and trends

Navigating a complex organizational environment to drive results while understanding the patience required to build the foundation necessary for long-term success Configuring and managing automation tools to streamline routine integration tasks such as data syncing, error detection Establishing and maintaining data governance policies around integration points to ensure accurate, timely, and secure flow of data between systems - Cloud-based environments and platforms, preferably AWS Strong understanding of integration patterns (e.g., synchronous, asynchronous) and integration mechanisms (APIs, File Based, Messaging Middleware) used to build reliable, scalable integrations between IT systems - Data science and generative AI Enterprise-scale data architecture, database / datalake configuration, and ETL Governing Master Data Management standards Solutions Portfolio Management concepts and tools (ex. LeanIX) Building system integrations and full lifecycle custom development /software delivery projects in an Agile manner following SAFe practices Experience with DevOps efficiency metrics (DORA)Configuring IBM ApptioOne and Targetprocess integration features to interact with other tools a big plus -Familiarity with Business Intelligence platforms like Tableau and Power BI

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GEDRequired: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent formal training

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $144,200 per year to $160,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
