The Mgr., Transportation Optimization will support the Domestic and International Logistics Teams across various Business Units in bringing the lowest landed cost from manufacturing through to the customer. This role will be proficient in project planning, data analysis, Final Mile, and route optimization. They will have mastered day to day execution of transportation planning & management and will apply their expertise on driving complex cross-functional transportation efficiencies. This role sits within the Logistics Network Optimization team. Key interactions for this role will include Transportation & DC Operations.
Utilize transportation optimization software and tools to identify optimal cost and service routing Conduct end to end data analysis on transportation product flow from plant through to customer in a global logistics environment Tracks transportation optimization KPIs and metrics that provide baselines to current state, identifies areas for improvement, and demonstrates the attainment of optimization initiatives Supports global logistics footprint and transportation teams in obtainment of overall financial goals. Knowledge and expertise to be the final mile and middle mile routing expert providing routing & costs for new customers, customer moves, RFPS, and optimization programs Execute on logistics optimization projects including cost reduction and business improvement opportunities. Ensures proper execution of various projects related to change management opportunities along with other special projects as assigned.
This role will be a key partner within our Logistics Network Optimization team and must possess exceptional people skills along with the ability to work well with others. Must have strong attention to detail and be comfortable presenting transportation metrics and initiative status to our leadership partners.
Bachelor’s degree required (Logistics or Supply Chain Management concentration preferred).Minimum, (5) years of experience in transportation planning, required.Experience leading network transportation optimization analysis and initiatives, preferred.Experience using and/or implementing transportation modeling and routing systemExcellent in-depth understanding of transportation and logistics including an expert level of knowledge about transportation (private fleet and 3rd party carrier)Proven leadership, problem-solving and decision-making ability coupled with strong management skillsAbility to develop action plans and deliver to completion both through individual action and through directing the work of othersDemonstrated success in working in a matrix environment and driving enterprise projects to completion while improving operational resultsDesire to work outside of boundaries, drive change and foster continuous improvement.
