MI/BI OLAP Specialist

Qualified candidate will provide subject matter expertise within the Management Information (MI) and Business Intelligence (BI) arena for highly visible project.  This candidate will assist the Agency with investigating, designing and implementing BI solutions in order to provide timeous and accurate reporting to business to enable informed decision-making and reporting. Candidate must have strong customer facing skills, a team player and exhibit strong oral and written communication skills. The qualified candidate must be accustomed to working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision.  Candidate will be responsible with assisting the project team (and customer) with the OLAP design and development within the Agency's enterprise environment. Candidate must be able to provide design and implementation support as well as providing expert recommendations, guidance and best practices to team and customer.

 

Skills Requirements:

Required Skills:

•Specific experience with the design and implementation of MI/BI tools.

•Knowledge of the enterprise performance management vendor capabilities and product functionalities including Oracle/Hyperion, SAP and IBM/Cognos.

•Must have experience implementing OLAP tools for BI/MI reporting.

•Ability to help define overall BI/MI reporting strategy.

•Ability to provide governance relating to best practices around report creation, delivery, publishing, and visualization.

•Experience in requirements gathering and documentation.

•Experience with the use of analytical tools such as SAS or MS SQL.

•Ability to develop using advanced concepts; techniques and standards.

•ETL and Data Storage knowledge.

•Ability to train power-user community.

 

Desired Skills

•Experience with Federal Contracting.

•Experience with the Social Security Administration (SSA).

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 11 years or more of professional experience; or 9 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
