Department: Store Development | Construction & Facility Maintenance

Report to: Senior Manager of store development and facility maintenance

Working Location: Tokyo Aoyama / Hybrid

Who You Are:

Are you passionate about retail development and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Michael Kors is looking for a Store Development Coordinator to be a key player in our store expansion and maintenance across Japan and Korea.

In this role, you will take charge of construction and facility maintenance coordination with vendors while also supporting the Senior Manager and project managers. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help bring our luxury retail spaces to life.

What You Will Do: 

Communicate with maintenance vendors, brands’ in-house colleagues, and retail store members to coordinate maintenance work

Operate maintenance system of maintenance order

Process construction & maintenance payment with communication to brand(s) by following each rule with ensuring all financial closeout documents are complete, accurately, and timely

Cooperate with the Senior Manager to proceed maintenance outsourcing program

Record approved budget and track cost accumulation for project and facility maintenance

Manage Japan & Korean team’s reporting (i.e. Weekly Development Report, Monthly Project Report, etc) - maintain accuracy and issues in a timely manner

Administrate local project schedule format

Provide administrative support to construction project managers, including, but not limited to, managing project drawing documents, contract documents, vendors’ invoice applications, project completion reports, etc.

Overall assistance with helping the construction and facility maintenance team to run smoothly.

Assist in the preparation of presentations and department events.

You will Need to Have: 

English and Japanese communication – writing and verbal (mandatory) / Korean communication (preferred)

Degree in architecture, construction management, or related field (preferred)

1-3 years’ maintenance coordinating experience at a foreign capital company of retail (preferred)

Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel, PPT, PDF, Word (mandatory) / AutoCAD (preferred)

Ability to read architectural construction documents (preferred)

Ability to prioritize and work proactively & independently
