POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Crew Foreman, the Micro-Surfacing Driver safely operates and maintains micro-surfacing equipment to resurface roads. DUTIES: + Maintain and clean assigned truck and perform daily pre and post trip inspections. + Report any truck mechanical problems to maintenance division. + Obey all traffic laws and ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times. + Assist other employees and work with others as a team on a construction crew. + As needed, operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner. QUALIFICATIONS: + Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance. + Must have CDL-A with Tanker and Doubles or Triples endorsements; current DOT Medical Card; and a clean, insurable driving record. + Able to work well with others in a team environment and follow instructions. + Able to move at least 100 pounds. + Willing to work long hours, including the possibility of working out of town for extended periods of time. + Able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. + Sitting: 50% of time + Standing:20% of time + Driving:30% of time + Weight Lifted:Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head. + Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder on the truck several times a day. + Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. + Working Conditions:40% of time will be spent working outside in the elements.
