Job Title: Microarray Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Microarray Operator to join our team. This position offers a choice between two shifts: 1st Shift: 4:00AM-2:00PM (Monday-Friday) or 2nd Shift: 2:00PM-12:30AM (Monday-Friday). The role involves overseeing the daily operations of microarray machines, ensuring quality production, and maintaining cleanroom standards.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in setting the daily schedule, priorities, and task delegation.Supervise and set up machines (microarrayers), handle changeovers, troubleshoot, and manage defective products.Monitor team members for quality production output using PLC controls, conduct routine quality inspection checks, integrity testing, and visual inspections.Monitor and report the number of rejected products during quality checks to the management team.Perform data entry into the ERP (Oracle and Oracal) on a regular basis.Follow work instructions, product specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain quality data.Utilize lab equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, Bio-safety cabinets (BSC), and degas systems to provide materials for microarrayers.Share knowledge and act as a lead trainer for co-workers/new hires.Perform equipment preventative maintenance as required.Conduct quarterly maintenance activities, such as cleaning the cleanrooms.Follow designated GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), Safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.Properly handle and discard hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, buffers).Follow daily and weekly lab cleaning routines utilizing the 5S methodology.Meet daily production goals and minimize downtime.Effectively communicate with the management team and maintenance functions.Participate in department and company meetings.Adhere to the attendance policy.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience working in an FDA-approved cleanroom.High attention to detail.Experience operating multiple machines.Experience wearing PPE.Additional Skills & QualificationsMachine operationProductionCleanroom expertiseFeeder operationGMP complianceHMI (Human-Machine Interface) operationInspectionComputer operationWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is temperature-controlled and includes working in a cleanroom where smocks, hair nets, and shoe covers are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
