Job Title: Microbiological Qualification Intern – Sanitation Systems Location: Danville, VA Duration: 3 Months Hours: Up to 40 Hrs/Week, Hours are Flexible and to be Worked Out with FSQA manager and Engineering Manager to Cover Various Hours of Operation of System undergoing validation. We're seeking an experienced leader to drive operational excellence and ensure adherence to industry-leading standards in vertical farming and packaging efficiency demonstrating superior leadership in Food GMP Standards, and Employee Safety and Wellbeing.   Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Microbiological Qualification Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the qualification of sanitation systems to ensure consistent and reliable results. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in microbiological testing, data analysis, and system evaluation within a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: + Assist in the microbiological qualification process of sanitation systems, including sampling, testing, and data analysis. + Perform routine microbiological tests to assess the effectiveness of sanitation procedures. + Support the development and validation of testing protocols and procedures. + Analyze test results and compile reports to communicate findings and recommendations. + Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to identify and address potential issues. + Monitor and document environmental conditions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. + Participate in the review and improvement of sanitation processes and procedures. + Maintain accurate and organized records of testing activities and results. Qualifications: + Currently pursuing a degree in Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field. + Strong interest in microbiology and/or engineering with a focus on sanitation systems. + Basic understanding of microbiological techniques and principles. + Familiarity with laboratory equipment and safety protocols. + Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications: + Previous laboratory or research experience is a plus. + Knowledge of sanitation systems and regulatory standards in an FDA or USDA regulated environment is advantageous.
