InnophosMicrobiologist, Food Ingredient Manufacturing Facility North Salt Lake, UT 84054 This role leads microbiological activities at our food ingredient manufacturing facility in North Salt Lake, Utah. The incumbent will serve as the site's subject matter expert to ensure accurate, reliable, and efficient microbiological testing and quality compliance for products, processes, and services. Key Responsibilities + Microbiological Analyses: Perform and develop analyses on raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate results + Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) Leadership + Microbiological Nonconformity Handling: Analyze test results, report abnormal data, and initiate NC (OOS, deviation) and/or CAPA as necessary, including support functions for root cause identification and follow-up on CAPA implementation + Protocol and SOP Development: Create and implement standardized laboratory protocols and SOPs + Method Verification and Validation: Lead microbiology method verification, validation, and proficiency testing processes to ensure testing accuracy and reliability + Regulatory Compliance Support: Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enable processes, ensuring alignment with ISO 17025 standards and other related regulatory mandates + Team Supervision and Mentoring: Lead and mentor microbiology technicians, providing training, guidance, and reporting on relevant KPIs + Continuous Improvement and Cross-functional Team Support: Undertake temporary assignments or continuous improvement projects assigned by quality management + Safety Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities adhere to safety regulations, proactively prevent accidents, and demonstrate commitment to safety RequiredEducation and Experience + B.A. or B.S. in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field + Similar or related experience desired: 5 or more years of experience in the field of Microbiology or in a related area in a lab environment Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities + Proficiency in microbiological techniques, data analysis, and project management is essential. This includes planning and executing experimental protocols while maintaining proficiency in equipment and laboratory procedures.
