Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiologist to conduct general food microbiological testing, including pathogenic micro testing, under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor. This role involves obtaining samples from production, processing sample preparations, media preparation, and recording micro plate counts. The successful candidate will assist in processing samples from receipt through testing, ensuring all steps are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and good manufacturing and laboratory practices.

ResponsibilitiesConduct general food micro testing including generic pathogenic micro under guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor or as outlined in the protocol.Obtain samples from production and process sample preps for micro testing, including media prep as directed or outlined in the protocol.Count and record micro plate counts.Conduct specific micro testing under guidance of the microbiologist.Assist in processing of samples from receipt through testing, including all associated documentation and recordkeeping, ensuring thoroughness and timeliness as outlined in protocol.Maintain thorough, complete, and timely documentation and recordkeeping as outlined in established SOP.Adhere to and model good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP) at all times.Essential SkillsMicrobiologyEnvironmental monitoringAseptic techniqueMicrobiology testingSample preparationMedia preparationBioburden testingFood scienceFood analysis testingAdditional Skills & Qualifications1-2 years of micro test or food analysis lab experienceBasic knowledge of microbiologyPrior QA/QC experience in food manufacturing is a plusB.S. degree in food, chemistry, microbiology, biology, or related fieldWork Environment

This role involves leading a team of 10 individuals and reporting to the QA Supervisor. It is a fully onsite position with one opening on the second shift, from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. Some weekend work is required to support the team. The work environment is team-oriented, collaborative, and business casual. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00
