Job Title: MicrobiologistJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Microbiologist responsible for conducting routine microbiology laboratory testing, recording, and transmitting data in support of scientific studies. This role involves preparation and sterilization of growth media, stock culture maintenance, weighing, measuring, and working with microorganisms, following laboratory procedures, generating documentation, and using general lab equipment. Responsibilities + Collect, record, and transcribe data and draft reports as appropriate, documenting all relevant changes with minimal oversight. + Help integrate new equipment into laboratories. + Respond to study demands and manage multiple project-related tasks simultaneously. + Recognize abnormal and normal study characteristics and suggest changes as appropriate. Learn from experience and communicate risks effectively. + Participate in the planning stages of test protocol development and ensure protocols are carried out as documented. + Accept changes readily and quickly master new test methods. + Execute approved SOPs and test methods. + Acquire, track, and manage samples for testing. + Maintain and stay up-to-date with required trainings and qualifications. Essential Skills + 2-4 years of experience in microbiology, including aseptic technique, serial dilutions, gram staining, streaking plates, preparing cultures, and plate counting. + BS in Microbiology, Biology, or Cellular/Molecular Biology. + Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to the role. + Familiarity with word processing, Excel, and Outlook. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + GMP experience is a plus. + Familiarity with ZOI, log attachment, MIC, growth promotion, AET, and test method validation is preferred and training will be provided. Work Environment You will be working within a fairly small team of 5-6 people. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 1st shift, with core hours from 9am to 3pm, offering flexibility on start time to complete a 40-hour work week. The environment is collaborative and supportive, ensuring you have the necessary tools and training to succeed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
