Job Title: Microbiologist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiologist responsible for carrying out routine microbiology laboratory testing. The role includes recording and transmitting data in support of scientific studies. Activities encompass preparation and sterilization of growth media, stock culture maintenance, weighing, measuring, and working with microorganisms, following laboratory procedures, generating documentation, and using general lab equipment. Responsibilities + Collect, record, and transcribe data, drafting reports as appropriate. + Document all relevant changes as per requirements with minimal oversight. + Assist in integrating new equipment into laboratories. + Respond to study demands and manage multiple project-related tasks simultaneously. + Recognize deviations from normal study characteristics and suggest appropriate changes. + Participate in the planning stages of test protocol development and ensure protocols are carried out as documented. + Quickly master new test methods and readily accept changes. + Execute approved SOPs and test methods. + Acquire, track, and manage samples for testing. + Maintain and stay updated with required trainings and qualifications. Essential Skills + 2-4 years of experience in microbiology fundamentals including aseptic technique, serial dilutions, gram staining, streaking plates, preparing cultures, and plate counting. + PET / AET experience. + BS in Microbiology, Biology, or Cellular/Molecular degrees. + Ability to work independently. + Familiarity with word processing, Excel, and Outlook. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + GMP experience is a plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications + ZOI, log attachment, MIC, growth promotion, and test method validation experience (training will be provided). + Avoid Chemistry degrees. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
