Position location: Lakeville, MA

The Intern will be required to work on project(s) relevant to Microbiology and present their project(s) at the end of the internship. As a Microbiology Intern, you may be exposed to multiple food safety & quality aspects through orientation meetings, shadowing, and on the job training.

Investigate antimicrobial properties of cranberries and other natural preservatives. Potential avenues of research include:Use molecular and analytical techniques to explore the effects cranberries have on mold and mycotoxin production.Help identify and categorize natural preservatives.Gain experience in traditional microbial techniques, qPCR, HPLC and scientific writing.Assist with other microbiology tasks such as sample testing for supplier and ingredient approval or product development, challenge tests, etc.
