Job Title: Microbiology SupervisorJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Supervisor to join our brand new laboratory. This role involves overseeing a team of technologists, managing workflow, troubleshooting equipment, and performing microbiology testing and benchwork. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and prior supervisory experience. Responsibilities + Manage a team of 8-10 Full-Time Employees (FTEs) + Handle scheduling, workflow, troubleshooting, SOPs, and administrative tasks + Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory + Understand the principles of tests performed and maintain working knowledge of the equipment used + Specifically work in hematology, responsible for urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts + Troubleshoot equipment issues, including bidex, ms prime, and virtue incubators + Revise policies and procedures as needed + Conduct statistical analysis Essential Skills + NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology + At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience within microbiology + Comfortable performing microbiology testing, benchwork, and troubleshooting + Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field + 4 years or more of clinical lab experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + ASCP certification is preferred but not required Work Environment The position offers a Monday-Friday day shift, with preferred hours of 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, but can be flexible. No weekend work is required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Health Benefits are effective one month from your date of hire if you are scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. To ensure coverage, it is required that you make your benefits selections within the 30 days following your date of hire. If your selections are not made on-line within the 30-day period, the Medical Center will assign benefits (default) coverage. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Brooklyn,NY.
