Job Title: Microbiology Supervisor
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Supervisor to join our brand new laboratory. This role involves overseeing a team of technologists, managing workflow, troubleshooting equipment, and performing microbiology testing and benchwork. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and prior supervisory experience.

ResponsibilitiesManage a team of 8-10 Full-Time Employees (FTEs)Handle scheduling, workflow, troubleshooting, SOPs, and administrative tasksPerform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratoryUnderstand the principles of tests performed and maintain working knowledge of the equipment usedSpecifically work in hematology, responsible for urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal countsTroubleshoot equipment issues, including bidex, ms prime, and virtue incubatorsRevise policies and procedures as neededConduct statistical analysisEssential SkillsNYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory TechnologyAt least 1 year of prior supervisory experience within microbiologyComfortable performing microbiology testing, benchwork, and troubleshootingBachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field4 years or more of clinical lab experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsASCP certification is preferred but not requiredWork Environment

The position offers a Monday-Friday day shift, with preferred hours of 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, but can be flexible. No weekend work is required. The lab features brand new equipment and provides a competitive pay structure, opportunities for upward mobility and growth, and the chance to manage an entire department.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Health Benefits are effective one month from your date of hire if you are scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. To ensure coverage, it is required that you make your benefits selections within the 30 days following your date of hire. If your selections are not made on-line within the 30-day period, the Medical Center will assign benefits (default) coverage.
