Job Title: Microbiology Supervisor Job Description We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our new microbiology lab and managing a team of technologists. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a brand new lab environment. The candidate should have a strong experience in microbiology and prior supervisory experience. Responsibilities + Manage a team of 8-10 full-time technologists. + Handle scheduling, workflow, troubleshooting, SOPs, and administrative tasks as needed. + Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory. + Understand the principles of tests performed and maintain working knowledge of the equipment used. + Specifically work in hematology, responsible for urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts. + Troubleshoot equipment, including brand new devices such as bidex, MS Prime, and Virtue incubators. + Conduct statistical analysis and revise policies and procedures as necessary. Essential Skills + NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology. + At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience within microbiology. + Comfortable performing microbiology testing, benchwork, and troubleshooting. + Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field plus 4 years or more of clinical lab experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + ASCP certification is preferred but not required as long as the candidate has the full New York State MLT license. + Experience with statistical analysis and policy revision. Work Environment This role operates in a brand new lab with state-of-the-art equipment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with day shifts preferred (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm) and no weekends. The lab environment is dynamic, offering opportunities for upward mobility and growth, as well as the chance to manage an entire department. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Health Benefits are effective one month from your date of hire if you are scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. To ensure coverage, it is required that you make your benefits selections within the 30 days following your date of hire.
