As a Microgrid Control Engineer, you will lead the Basis-of-Design around generator/multi-source paralleling controls and multi-function protection relays-based controls involving microgrid solutions, solar photovoltaic, battery energy storage solutions, diesel/natural gas generators and other distributed energy resources (DER’s), utilizing commercially available PLC controllers, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s), multi-function protection relays, and concentrators from major OEM’s. This is a remote position with 25% travel. Candidate can be located anywhere in the US and must be a US citizen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support efforts to optimize distributed energy generation systems design, output, basis of design, physical site layout and site accessSupport the creation and submission of interconnection requests with the local Utility for distributed energy projects and analyze study resultsFollow customers specifications and internal specifications for project implementationSelect components and create bill of materialsPrepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittalsProvide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawingsPrepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation, and test proceduresAssist with factory testing and field start-ups as requiredTroubleshoot systems that are not functioning properlyWork with microgrid concepts, including islanding operation,\n grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power\n flow management within a microgrid systemProvide technical support to the proposals team
COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is 125k-175k. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is 125k-175k. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. This position is incentive plan eligible.
