Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
+ 4 years of experience working in Opto-electronics, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
+ Experience with optical setups, semiconductor optics and data analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
+ PhD or equivalent in Applied Physics, Materials Science, Optoelectronics, or a related discipline.
+ 5 years of experience in one or several of the following fields: optoelectronic device physics (theory and experiments); semiconductor optics and spectroscopy; semiconductor processing.
+ Understanding of optical properties such as light extraction/wave optics.
+ Expertise in analyzing overall device performance and in handling complex datasets.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge microLED technology, in broad collaboration with engineering teams from epitaxy to process development. You will develop and harness advanced optical characterization techniques to assess and help improve device performance and yield. You will analyze large experimental data sets, extracting trends and interactions to guide end-to-end performance understanding.
Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Develop high-performance micro-LED emitters from end to end: from physical concepts and design to demonstrating device performance and manufacturability.
+ Develop advanced metrology: implement novel setups to improve the physical understanding and the performance of micro-LED emitters.
+ Analyze large experimental datasets to extract trends and improve device performance and yield.
+ Interact with teams including epitaxy, process engineering, characterization and test.
