The O365 Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting all aspects of Microsoft 365 services like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and more, including user administration, security configuration, migration strategies, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring optimal performance and user adoption across the platform. The O365 Engineer also spends time collaborating with cross-functional teams to address business needs and leverage the full potential of the cloud-based productivity suite. This role ensures that the Office 365 platform is optimized, secure, and used to its full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Administration, Configuration and Support
· Managing user licenses, permissions, mailboxes, distribution lists, and other Office 365 features across the organization.
· Administration of Microsoft Office 365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business and others)
· Identifying and resolving technical issues related to Microsoft 365 services, providing end-user support as needed.
· Port and assign phone numbers for organization-wide Teams Migrations
Security, Compliance and Data Governance
· Implementing and monitoring security policies within Office 365 to protect sensitive data.
· Managing threat protection features and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
· Implementing and managing data governance policies.
· Ensure data is secure, accurate, and usable for the organization.
· Within Intune, manage all company devices, configure and maintain security policies
Performance Optimization
· Monitoring system health
· Identifying performance bottlenecks
· Optimizing Office 365 services for optimal user experience.
Design and Development
· Designing custom workflows and solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps.
· Manage custom workflows and solutions, keeping them up to date
· Supporting project implementation
· Demonstrating and encouraging a culture of automation, orchestration, and efficiency.
Collaboration, Adoption and Training
· Leading Office 365 adoption initiatives and user training.
· Working with IT teams, business users, and project managers to understand requirements, design solutions, and implement changes within Office 365.
· Writing technical documentation as standard operating procedures for reference material to be used by users and fellow IT team members.
Staying Updated
· Keeping up to date with the latest Office 365 features, updates, and best practices to ensure the organization is leveraging the full potential of the platform.
· Actively contribute to a culture of high performance, innovation and continuous improvement.
