Leidos is seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Server Administrator to join our team supporting the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). In this role, you will manage and optimize enterprise databases, ensuring system reliability, security, and peak performance. You will also support database lifecycle activities, implement performance enhancements, and collaborate in an Agile environment to meet customer goals.

The work location is in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Primary Responsibilities

Administer and maintain databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Perform database lifecycle activities, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and monitoring.

Implement disaster recovery strategies, index maintenance, and database performance optimization.

Monitor database health using tools like SQL Server Management Studio, ensuring CPU, memory, and disk usage remain within thresholds.

Enhance database configurations to improve performance and reduce costs.

Manage access controls, audit logs, and user accounts to uphold database security and integrity.

Produce documentation, SOPs, reports, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Troubleshoot database issues in a high-security environment.

Build and maintain strong relationships with government customers, communicating effectively across diverse teams.

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on experience in MS SQL Server database administration.

Proven expertise with MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.

Proficiency in database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.

Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

Skilled in backup strategies and shell scripting for database management.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a track record of achieving project objectives.

Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification)

Education/Experience Requirements

Candidate must have a Bachelor's, with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Generally has experience supervising others

Clearance

Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI and willingness to get a Poly.

US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.

Preferred Qualifications

MCSA SQL Server certification.

AWS certification or hands-on experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS).

Familiarity with NMEC operations or related agency experience.

Experience troubleshooting in secure environments.

Proven ability to lead teams and manage project deliverables.

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
