Noblis MSD is seeking a Microsoft Systems Engineer of Automation for an effort to provide systems engineering and integration of Naval software systems on-site at NIWC Atlantic in Charleston.

 

Responsibilities

Provide knowledge in systems engineering and information technologyDevelop solutions to automate systems administration tasks including troubleshooting, performing diagnostics, and resolving discovered issuesDevelop automated maintenance scripts that automatically detect issues/anomalies within a datacenter and resolve those issuesInvestigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groupsDevelop automated test casesDevelop and/or revise system designs and architectures to improve efficiency, stability, effectiveness, supportability, and sustainabilityProvide feedback on internal processes and recommendations for improvementContribute to team efforts by accomplishing related taskings as directedProvide technical knowledge to design systems that monitor and manage DoD systemsPrepare technical briefs to present to engineering review teamsIntegrate COTS and GOTS software into CANES baselinesProvide technical knowledge to support and maintain Microsoft and other vendor IT enterprise productsInstall test branches on physical hardware on lab equipment as first level integration testsVerify install documentation is executable

This is an on-site position in Charleston, SC.

Required Qualifications

 

U.S. CitizenBachelor's Degree OR Associate's Degree + 3 years of experience OR High School Diploma + 6 years of experience.A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire dateExperience with Microsoft Windows Server and Client Operating SystemsExperience with Microsoft enterprise products: Exchange, SQL, SharePoint Desired Qualifications

 

6+ years' experience in a systems engineer role overseeing complex IT infrastructureAbility to effectively install, configure, and administer in a multi-system and/or multi-application environmentExperience with Microsoft PowerShell is critical as it is heavily leveraged to automate installation, configuration, hardening, and maintenance tasksAbility to automate the installation and configuration of applicationsWorking knowledge and experience with Agile framework and ScrumKnowledge of Linux/Windows OS and networking from a system design perspectiveAbility to create and test virtualized environments (VMWare, OpenShift, Hyper-V, AWS) for development and testing procedures that are traceable to system requirementsWorking knowledge and experience of System Engineering processes and proceduresStrong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers, and organizationsDoD 8140\8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II (ex: CompTIA Security+ CE, etc.)A bachelor's degree in computer science or engineeringMicrosoft certification (i.e., MCIT, MCSA, MCSE, etc.)2+ years' experience automating complex IT tasks and infrastructureExperience with Git, familiarity with Bitbucket, GitLab, Confluence, JiraKnowledgeable with integrated development environment (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revisionExperience with Ansible Automation Platform playbook creation and developmentExperience with programming/scripting languages (Bash\Python\HTML\JAVA)Experience with Test Driven DevelopmentExperience with VMWare virtual infrastructureKnowledge of Data Science pipelinesExperience with Linux administration and BASH scripting Overview

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
