Mid – Senior UX/UI Designer (JHB)
ENVIRONMENT: A leading health and wellness platform dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their health goals through accessible, effective care, is seeking a Mid-Senior-Level Designer to shape the visual expression of its vision. The successful candidate will join a passionate team committed to elevating health and self-care through innovative design and creative campaigns that not only drive business growth but also inspire customers to take charge of their well-being. The hiring decision will primarily be based on the candidate’s design expertise, experience, and cultural fit within a startup environment, with additional consideration given to supplementary skills in copywriting, communications, and UI/UX.   DUTIES: Brand Development and Stewardship Develop, enhance, and maintain the Company’s visual brand and guidelines, ensuring a cohesive, compelling identity across all touchpoints. Uphold brand consistency while identifying and implementing opportunities to refine and evolve the visual identity. Push creative boundaries to introduce fresh perspectives that elevate the brand while adhering to established guidelines. Digital and Platform Design Create high-quality visuals for websites, social media, email marketing, and other digital platforms, aligning with brand standards and audience needs. Lead the visual and functional design of the website, crafting intuitive and engaging UI/UX experiences. Develop and maintain scalable design systems, templates, and workflows for efficient creative production. Content Creation and Paid Social Conceptualise and design conversion-focused paid social ads (static, GIFs, videos) for platforms like Meta, Google, TikTok, and YouTube. Leverage innovative ideas to improve ad performance and directly impact metrics such as CTR, CVR, and CAC. Collaborate with content creators to produce high-quality, on-brand user-generated content for campaigns. Campaign Ideation and Execution Brainstorm and execute impactful creative concepts that resonate with audiences and stretch the brand’s visual potential. Oversee the end-to-end design process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs. Data-Driven Design and Optimization Use performance data and insights to inform creative strategies, identify trends, and guide iterative testing. Continuously optimize designs to meet business goals and enhance user engagement. Collaboration Work cross-functionally with marketing, content, and product teams to align creative goals and deliverables. Mentor junior designers and freelancers, fostering a collaborative and innovative creative environment. Stay Ahead of Trends Keep updated on emerging design trends, platform-specific best practices, and tools like AI to push creative boundaries.    REQUIREMENTS: Design Excellence: Mastery of typography, colour, composition & layout, visual storytelling and direct response marketing principles. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere. Platform-Specific Design: Skilled in creating content tailored for FB, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital platforms. Data Literacy: Ability to interpret performance metrics and apply insights to improve design effectiveness. Social Media Expertise: Deep understanding of trends and platform nuances to create engaging content.   Bonus Skills and Keen Interest in Learning: They value versatility and a willingness to grow, so a keen interest in any of the following areas is highly desirable: Photography: Experience in capturing high-quality, brand-aligned images for digital and print materials, with a strong understanding of lighting, composition, and styling. Videography: Skills in shooting and editing engaging video content, with an eye for storytelling and brand consistency across platforms. Copywriting or Writing Proficiency: Strong communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive copy for digital and print materials, including social media, email campaigns, and website content. 3D Modelling and Design: Experience with 3D modelling and rendering using tools such as Blender, Cinema 4D, or Lumion to create visually compelling and dynamic assets. UI/UX Expertise: Proficient in wireframing, prototyping, and creating user-centric designs.   ATTRIBUTES: Creative Problem-Solving: Strong ideation and design thinking skills to deliver impactful user experiences.
