Mid-Level Electrical Engineer City Augusta State GA Country United States Area of Interest Electrical Engineering Type Full Time - Regular Job ID 2024-13668 Business Group Nuclear Power Group Department Electrical Engineering Description Under the direction of the electrical engineering lead or project manager, this position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing power plant electrical systemsYou will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issuesAssist the electrical engineering lead or project manager in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budgetPrepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase AC and DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting and protective relay settingsPrepare engineering documentation for design input for drawing productionPrepare and review engineering reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formatsPerform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparationDevelop project work plans

This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.

Essential skills and experience:

A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required3+ years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, or modifications or replacements for existing plants; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specificationsExperience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculationsExperience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering roleExperience in reviewing design drawings created by othersEffective critical thinking and problem solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsEffective working in teams and individual workDetail oriented approach to work

Valued but not required skills and experience:

PE licenseMSEEConstruction and start-up experience a plus
