Title:
Mid-Level Protection Systems EngineerKBR is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Protection Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for modeling space protection defensive-related systems to support development and validation of requirements, concept of designs, architecture products, system schedules, and risks for end-to-end closure of the baseline for Space protection-related activities in the overall Enterprise. The successful candidate will as well as modeling to support evaluations of threats, timelines, and avoidance (course of action) concepts.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for modeling space protection defensive-related systems and campaign modeling to inform development and validation of requirements, CONOPs, architecture products, system schedules, and risks for end-to-end closure of the baseline for space protection-related activities in the overall Enterprise
Perform modeling to support space protection evaluations of threats timelines, threat performance, and avoidance (course of action) concepts.
Perform ad-hoc study requests and support to mission concept designs
Interface with customers, directorate/office representatives, and across system engineering groups to drive resolution plans and strategies for complex technical challenges.
Generate and maintain technical documentation and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s STEM degree, or related field
3-5 years' experience in Space Domain Awareness (SDA), space protection, and threat avoidance
Prior Space Protection experience performing threat and impact assessments
Prior experience performing kill chain assessments or campaign modeling
Ability to collaborate across stakeholder organizations
Strong communication skills to interface with customers, directorate/office representatives, and across system engineering groups
Ability to generate and maintain technical documentation and reports
Preferred Qualifications:
5-8 years’ experience in space protection, threat avoidance, and tracking algorithm enhancement
Experience in the NRO
Experience with CONOPs, architecture products, and/or requirements
Knowledge of AFSIM and/or NGTS frameworks
Experience support wargames and exercises
Experience utilizing near real-time MS&A frameworks
Proficiency with AGI’s Systems Tool Kit (STK), MATLAB, Python, Tableau, and/or C++
Security Requirements: Active TS/SCI with CI poly
