Middle School Assistant Principal
Brighton Central Schools
Position start date is July 1, 2025.
Job Goals:
+ Assist the middle school principal with the administration and supervision of the middle school program
Performance Responsibilities:
+ Helps to coordinate student activities
+ Supervises faculty and staff as requested by middle school principal
+ Coordinates development and implementation of policies related to student attendance and behavior
+ Helps to supervise extracurricular functions and activities
+ Organizes and conducts programs for students and parents including orientation-related programs
+ Conducts observations in accordance with the District’s APPR plan
+ Assists with preparation of school budget
+ Completes necessary reports as requested
+ Represents TCMS on some district committees, including CPSE
+ Chairs building MSST Team
+ Performs other tasks as assigned by the principal
+ Helps to analyze data to inform instruction and school initiatives
+ Coordinates some mandated testing
Terms of Employment:
12 months per year. Salary and working conditions as defined in the
negotiated agreement between the District and the Association of
Brighton Administrators.
Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ Successful teaching experience
+ Appropriate New York State Administrative Certification (School Building Leader)
+ Knowledge of middle school organizations and programs
+ Skills in communications (written and verbal), planning, problem solving, decision making and working with people
+ Knowledge of special education programming
+ Knowledge of special education regulations
+ Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
+ Ability to work with staff and parents with diverse opinions
+ Familiar with the requirements of Education Law 3012-c, commonly referred to as APPR, and certification as an evaluator using the NYSUT rubric.
