Summary 

DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level associate to join its White Collar, Investigations and Government Enforcement practice group with a focus on securities, regulatory and enforcement matters. The preferred location for this position is in the Boston office.

Education 

JD 

Bar Admission 

Admitted to practice in Massachusetts.

Experience 

3-5 years of previous experience. 

Prior law firm or agency experience. 

Job Competencies & Desired Skills 

Background in securities law, with level-appropriate experience in key securities statutes and regulations is required

Concentrated experience in securities litigation, defense of enforcement actions, and regulatory compliance

Experience and familiarity with inquiries and investigations from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), State AGs or State Securities Divisions, and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA is preferred

Significant experience advising clients on business decisions relating to disclosures, insider trading policies and procedures, and broker registration requirements

The ideal candidate will also have experience representing publicly traded companies, brokers, and investment advisors

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements 

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. 

 
Work Environment 

Hybrid with a minimum of three days in-office expectations. 

Some travel required.

Pay Transparency 

The expected annual pay range for this position, if hired to work in Boston, MA is $260,000 to $365,000 per year.  The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications.
